Film Analysis of Tim Burton's Beetlejuice

Description of style
Simple and straightforward is the best description of style. At first it is kind of tricky but as the movie goes you will find it easy to understand and you will already know what will be the ending. The problem is there’s no thrill in watching this movie but you’ll love it because it is a comedy fantasy film so there’ll be no dull moments while watching this. Another style is that this movie is light, comical and humorous. Light in a way that you will not feel the heavy drama even if the movie is about that couple who passed away in a car accident. Comical and humorous because it cause laughter especially by unexpected or unusual. There are scenes that will turn into laughter because Adam and Barbara will change their physical appearances into a monster in a funny way.

Subject matter
Beetlejuice is a horror comedy fantasy film. The story goes when a couple died in a car accident and found a 'Handbook for the recently deceased'. As we all know, Tim Burton's specialty is horror and fantasy kind of movies. This movie dealt with the couple on how are they going to protect their house since they are recently deceased. At first, the couple are not aware that they passed away. Soon after they discovered, things changed. The newly moved family in their house don't believe that the couple Adam and Barbara are just playing with them. The mission of the two is to scare them but they keep on failing and seems to be like a funny thing. Weird things happened when beetlejuice appeared. Beetlejuice, a freelance "bio-exorcist" ghost that appear when you said his name three times. When the family knew what is happening in the house they perform a spiritual action using the book to reincarnate the couple and to let them die again. Later on, the couple agreed to share their house to the newly moved family.

Cinematography
Since this movie was released on 1988, capturing the action of the actors, type of camera angle and lighting are in a process of enhancing. Objective camera was used in this movie. The only part when subjective camera was used is when the Beetlejuice narrate the story of his life. The arrangement of people is quite good. No one is blocking the camera and the other actor. Some arrangements of the objects are not parallel to each other and some of them doesn't fit on the frame. Talking about the type of camera angle, some scenes are inappropriate on the actions of the actors. There are scenes that the camera didn't capture the expressions of the actors. When it comes to lighting there are scenes that the light wasn't established. If you will give time to take a look at every scene you will find out that some scenes doesn’t have the proper lighting. Most of the time it’s too dark.

I just want to become a superhero

I always wanted to become an international model when i was a kid. I remember during exam days my teacher will ask our class especially the girls if who's interested to have a fashion show in our classroom, i always volunteer to be one of the models. I'm shy. SUPER! But when it comes to that kind of stuff i don't know why i'm such a bibbo kid hahahaha. ☺

Time flies so fast when i realized that i want to be a flight attendant. Maybe because people always told me to be an FA that's why my mind was molded to choose this profession. But later on i decided to be a chef because i love experimenting foods. Well actually not love, i just like it or i'm just kinda interested to this craft. Unfortunately cooking doesn't like me. I tried to cook mac and cheese once then i let my family taste it. They really find it bad. I used ready to cook sauce for that mac and cheese but it doesn't taste good.. FOR THEM. Cause for me, it taste just like mac and cheese. Hahahaha!!

During the middle of summer vacation getting ready for my first year in college i already completed my mind. I already got a chance to think of what i wanted to be in the future and that's film director. I love writing stories. I love creating scenes in every people or situation i am encountering. I love making up stories every night before i go to sleep. I love making "what ifs" everytime i am talking to someone. I love dreaming of a perfect movie with me as an actor, director, and script writer. Wow that's hard hahaha. I'm an auteur now. Well that's my basis for choosing this field.

The end where I begin

I swear i saw you but you didn't saw me. As you drive your car passing by me my heart then suddenly stop. Three words in my mind that i let out, "OH MY GOD" As i saw you passing by i remember all the memories. I remember the first day i met you then we talked and laughed. The tension in your body that you can't control. The way you speak stutters. The way you move your eyes gives a feeling of nervousness. You can't barely move. You can't even drive your car because you were too afraid to make a wrong move. But as i remember those moments i can still remember the last day i hold you, the last time i kissed you goodbye. The day when you finally asked for your freedom that i can't give.

As the rain is pouring it gives a heartbreaking feeling because it reminds me of the saddest part of our love story. That's when you finally realized that you're no longer in love with me. You made excuses. Damn too many excuses. I actually don't know what to believe in those excuses. I keep on asking myself "Why does it have to end?" It took how many months for me to figure out the answer. Then i told myself "Everything has its own ending. You don't have to ask why. You just have to accept the fact that ending do exist."

Vivid

All of us have been in a chaotic situation in our lives. Well, maybe, some are just on their way to the real so-called LIFE. Some already came to the point of giving up at the early age. But life must go on. Seriously. For now it may seem to be in darker world full of hatred, anxiety, envy, suffering, pain. But when you're over it you will be able to say to yourself that "Oh god. I love my life!"

Have you ever feel like you're the only person in the world? I mean everyone seems to be a stranger and enemy for you. It's like you carry all the problems of all the people near you. It's like you feel so tiny and everyone's just stepping and laughing at you. When you try to speak it feels like there's a huge voice saying words like USELESS, STUPID, ASSHOLE, LOSER, WEAK then will laugh at you until you can no longer say what you wanna say. When somebody ask you on something and you can't even open you're mouth because you were too afraid to be rejected and you'll just wish to be swallowed by the ground. At this point in your life you were too afraid. Afraid in choosing the right words and actions. The level of your anxiety is really uncontrollable. It feels like all of your words and actions are wrong. You can't no longer recognize what's right from wrong. You just stuck yourself on a thought that everything about you is completely undefined.
